Our honey bee business started as a dream. Grupo Cajola member Alvino Vasquez took the idea and ran with it! What started as 10 hives has grown into 60 since 2013. It has been an exciting ride so far, and Alvino has learned a lot about the process through experience.

 

We spun the honey business off to Alvino in 2019 because it had not developed into a cooperative. We are committed to working as cooperatives because of the collective aspect of the work in line with the Maya world view.
