Our honey bee business started as a dream. Grupo Cajola member Alvino Vasquez took the idea and ran with it! What started as 10 hives has grown into 60 since 2013. It has been an exciting ride so far, and Alvino has learned a lot about the process through experience.
The greatest challenges has come from climate change and monoculture spraying of fumigants and other chemicals along the river. We have recently split our hives into three distinct groups and have moved them to separate locations in hopes to stabilize their source of nectar.
